Executive Vice President/Mortgage Banker
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our brother, friend, colleague, and mentor, Dave Hopper.
Dave joined Stifel Bank & Trust 11 years ago as Executive Vice President/Mortgage Banker, serving as a loan officer and mortgage production manager. There were 20 people that joined Stifel that day from Pulaski Bank. Many of Dave's colleagues have worked closely with him for decades. "Hop" dedicated his career to helping families with homeownership, often through their financial advisor or realtor.
Going forward, The Hopper Team will be led by Dave's sister, Sheila Lambiase.
Dave's Story:
On Valentine's Day in 2012, Dave was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer, and was told there was no cure. His expected prognosis was 4-5 years. Dave began his fight with cancer bravely and with unrelenting vigor. Faith, family, friends, and pure determination to win propelled Dave through this fight, seeking new and experimental treatments with leading oncologists at Siteman Cancer Center here in St. Louis, as well as treatment with specialists in Cleveland Clinic in OH and MD Anderson in TX.
Experimental treatments helped Dave feel strong, minimized pain, and lengthened his life. He was able to enjoy trips with his family to Belize, Hawaii, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, and to his family's lake house in Table Rock, MO.
Stifel has supported Pedal the Cause since 2012 as a rally for Dave and so many others fighting cancer. Funding experimental treatment had an impact on Dave, as it has for so many others fighting cancer. In 2016 Dave was a Featured Fighter at Pedal the Cause, as he led the Stifel team 100-riders strong.
Dave was a true leader. He shared his 7 year cancer journey with us from the onset. His generosity of spirit, his bravery, and his strength will not be forgotten. The phrase "Faith, Family, Friends" befits Dave's approach to life. Dave is survived by his wife, Patty, their three children, his parents, sister, two brothers, and countless friends.
